Libraries

Offprint Library is an itinerant library that questions the context in which it is growing, through the selection of critical publications.

Offprint Library Amsterdam, ‘1917’
Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, 29 September 2017

Inspired by the centenary of three major aesthetic events – the emergence of the De Stijl movement, Marcel Duchamp’s iconic readymade sculpture ‘Fountain’, and the Russian October revolution – Offprint Library Amsterdam will examine the year ‘1917’ as it presents its activities at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.

Offprint Library Milano, ‘Critical Discourses in Design’
Palazzo Clerici, Design Week Milano, 4 – 9 April 2017

During the Salone del Mobile, in Milan, Offprint Library will present over 150 publications questioning contemporary design values, to stimulate a critical approach of contemporary design practices.

Bookstores

Offprint curates bookshops for private and public institutions.

Hôtel du Cloître Bookstore
26, rue du Cloître, Arles
Until mid-April 2017

Since October 2016, Offprint has organized the art bookstore for the Hôtel du Cloître in Arles, France, including a selection of books, magazines, LPs, and other periodicals on art and design.

Offprint Bookstore
La Grande Halle, Parc des Ateliers, Arles
May 2017 – Spring 2018

As part of the LUMA Foundation’s spring and summer program in Arles, Offprint will produce the Parc des Ateliers Bookstore, presenting a large number of publications on art, architecture, design, humanities, visual culture, nature and culture within an architectural setting designed especially for the 2017 exhibition season.

About

Created in 2010, Offprint is LUMA Foundation’s platform for supporting socially engaged editors experimenting with new formats and contents. All year-round, Offprint gathers and presents a group of publishers and lesser-known publications, circulating mostly outside the traditional commercial networks: publishers stricto sensu, as well as art schools, magazines, self-published books, artists collectives, research reviews, zines ...
Each year, Offprint organizes a series of events to support publishers: two fairs (Offprint Paris and Offprint London), several travelling libraries (Milan, Amsterdam), a permanent library at the Parc des Ateliers, in Arles, and curated bookshops for private and public institutions.
Supporting artists and the production of ground-breaking cultural projects, LUMA Arles is pleased to produce Offprint. LUMA Arles and Offprint both aim at supporting independent publishing and all fields of contemporary creation.
